Gulab Jamun, How to make Gulab Jamun from Milk powder.

Gulab Jamun is a popular Indian sweet or dessert. Gulab Jamuns are specially made during the festivals like Holi, Diwali, Navratri and so many festivals. 

Ingredients:
1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup Maida
1 tbsp Milk
1 teaspoon refined oil or desi ghee
A pinch of salt(if you need)
A pinch of Baking soda
1 tablespoon curd(Dahi)
For Garnishing add Almond slices and Pista
For Sugar Syrup
2 cups water
1.5 cups sugar
Crushed elaichi powder

Gulab Jamun

Process
Ready to prepare Sugar Syrup
1. Mix water, sugar, and ealichi powder.
2. Boil all sugar solution till we get a syrup consistency.
3. Turn off the stove and keep aside to cool.
Making Gulab jamun Dough
1. First mix the milk powder, maida and soda in a bowl.
2. Add Little ghee or oil and 1 tbsp curd.
3. Mix it well by adding milk there should not be crumbly or dry. 
4. Make smooth small balls from the dough.
Preparation of Gulab Jamun
1. Heat the oil in a bottom pan and reduce the flame.
2. Add the small Gulab jamun balls and fry them to get Golden Brown
3. Remove the balls from oil and add into the sugar syrup.
4. Allow them to rest for 3 hours and serve.
5. Garnish Gulab Jamuns with chopped Almond Slices and Pista.

Diwali Sweets: Gulab Jamun.

Gulab Jamun is the Traditional Indian Sweet Dish which is most favourite of all people. 

8 tbsp milk powder(doodh powder)
2 tbsp maida
1 tbsp Sooji
Little bit of baking soda
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp pure ghee 
5 tbsp milk, warm( for preparing the dough)

Processing of Sugar syrup: 
First we have to prepare the sugar syrup.
In a deep pan take 2 cup of sugar and we have to add 2 cup of water to boil.
In simmer boil for 3 to 4 minutes to get sticky.
Add the Cardamom powder and lemon juice, cover it and keep aside.

Gulab Jamun


Processing of gulab jamun:
In a large bowl take all milk powder and add the maida, rava.
Then add a little pinch of baking soda.
And you also add the ghee and finally add the milk little by little and knead it     well.
Knead the dough too soft and smooth.
Make small balls in your hand.But keep in mind there should be no cracks on     balls.
Heat the ghee in low flame after some time put the gulab jamun ball in the hot ghee and fry the jamuns balls till it turns golden brown.
After fry immediately drop the jamun balls into hot sugar syrup.
Cover the lid for 2 to 3 hours.
Finally Gulab jamun sized will be doubled and ready to eat.

Gulab Jamun

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1½ cup Milk fudge (khoya)
  • ¼ cup grated cottage cheese
  • ¼tsp Soda bicarbonate
  • 3tbsp Refined flour (maida)
  • ¼tsp Green cardamom powder
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Water
  • Clarified butter (ghee) or refined oil to fry


Recipe Method: 

  • Grate khoya and mash cottage cheese . 
  • Mix the two along with soda bicarbonate, refined flour, green cardamom powder and knead well together to make a soft dough. (If required, add a liitle water to make a soft dough). 
  • Divide into sixteen equal portions and shape into balls.
  • Prepare a sugar syrup with sugar and two cups of water. 
  • Clear the syrup by removing the scum, if any.
  • Heat ghee/oil in a pan. 
  • The oil should be enough to immerse the balls well.
  •  Add the balls and deep fry on low heat till golden brown in colour. 
  • Drain and set aside for 3-4 minutes. 
  • Soak in the hot sugar syrup for at least half an hour before serving.
